FOCA ŞI DELFINUL

Poveste

Foca mamiferă
la multe a renunţat,
dorind să înoate în mare.
Dar oricum,şi-a păstrat 

nişte rudimente de picioare,
ca să se poată întoarce pe uscat.

Delfinul mamifer
a fost mai puţin prevăzător,
a renunţat la toate

şi a ajuns întru totul asemănător unui peşte.

Şi nu s-a mai întors pe uscat niciodată.

Bine îi merge focii ;
uscatul o salvează de mare,
iar marea, de uscat.

Bietului delfin,
lui nimic nu-i mai rămane,
decît să se bizuie pe el însuşi.
 

Şi totuşi,
n-o să invidiem foca,
acest precaut hibrid
al uscatului şi al mării.

Mai bine să-l invidiem pe delfinul
atît de hotărît
de a nu se mai întoarce pe uscat

şi care a devenit
cel mai raţional animal marin.

THE SEAL AND THE DOLPHIN

Story

The seal mammal

many things gave up

wanting to swim in the sea.

But anyway she kept

some rudiments of legs,

for being able to return to the land.

The dolphin mammal

was less cautious,

he gave up all the things

and fully became like a fish.

And never came back on land again.

The seal is well,

the land saves her from the sea

and the sea saves her from the land.

To poor dolphin nothing is left

but to rely on himself.

And yet,

we shall not envy the seal,

this cautious hybrid

of land and sea.

Better to envy the dolphin

so decided

not to go back to the land

and which became

the most reasonable marine animal.
