DE S-AR LĂSA CÎNDVA TĂCERE MARE
De s-ar lăsa cîndva tăcere mare.
Şi dacă tot ce-i vag şi întîmplare
şi rîs vecin ar fi să înceteze,
şi dacă simţurile-n vuiet, treze,
nu m-ar opri din veghea mea prea tare -
atunci cu gîndul meu aş fi în stare,
pînă la margini, tot, să te gîndesc,
şi să te am ( cît zîmbetu-n durată ),
şi iarăşi vieţii să te dăruiesc,
ca pe-o răsplată.
IF ONCE WOULD FALL GREAT SILENCE
If once would fall great silence
And if all that is vague and random
and the neighbour laughing would have to stop,
and if my senses roaring, awake,
would not stop me from my watching,
then with my thought I should be able
up to the edge, to think you
and have you (as long as a smile is lasting )
and give you to the life again,
as a reword.
