La vîrsta şi-n ziua în care ne fură sălaş ;

THE RETURN OF LOVE IN THE LANDSCAPES WHERE IT HAS LIVED

We think, my love, that those landscapes
Were lost in the sleep or died with us
At the age when they were our shelter ;
We think that the trees are losing their memory
And the nights pass, forgetting
What made them beautiful and maybe eternal.
But it's enough the slight trembling of a leaf,
Or a hoar-frosted star that is breathing,
For finding us as cheerful as then when the places,
Full of us, governed us together.
And behold, you wake near me, my love,
Among the bushes of currant and hidden wilde strawberries,
Sheltered by the powerful heart of the forest.

Here the wet caress of the dew drop,
The delicate twigs that refresh your couch,
And the elves happy to put jewels in your hair,
And the mysterious squirrels that make it rain from above
On your sleep, the small green of the branches.

Oh, leaf, be happy forever, let you never know what the autumn is,
Leaf that brought to me
With your slight trembling
The scent of a bright but blind age,
And you, little star, lost, that open to me
The secret windows of my youngest nights,
Wrap in your rays
All the couches that made us sleep at dawn,
And this library full of moon,
And the books sliding slowly,
And the mountains that are watching outdoors and sing of us.
