E-N SEARA CÎND TE PREGATEŞTI DE DRUM
E-n seara cînd te pregăteşti de drum,
pe la chindii,
cînd părăseşti de tot această lume.
Gîndu-şi desprinde cortul din păienjeniş
şi inima îşi uită de ce se-nfricoşase.
Pelerinul îşi părăseşte-n pustie sălaşul
ce va fi în curînd îngropat în nisip
şi calea şi-o urmează în marea linişte-a nopţii,
călăuzit de tainice stele.
IT IS IN THE EVENING WHEN YOU PREPARE FOR LEAVING
It is in the evening when you prepare for leaving,
at twilight,
when you leave this world for good.
