Omule-mpovărat,
Aşează-te-ndată.
Să tăcem, să privim
În noaptea-ntunecată.
Dă jos din spinare
Cufărul de stejar
Să te odihneşti.
În noaptea-ntunecată vom modela
Ochi omeneşti.
A vorbi nu-i uşor...Grea ţi-e povara
Pîine pietrificată.
A vorbi e-n zadar. Două pietre
În noaptea-ntunecată.

Burdened man,
Sit at once.
Let us be silent, let us watch
The dark night.
Put down from your back
The oak chest
To rest.
In the dark night we shall mould
Human eyes.
To speak is not easy...Your burden is heavy
Petrified bread.
To speak is in vain. Two stones
